- I read a fair about of crime fiction and am very picky about my detectives. I'm happy to say I am now a fan of Nils Shapiro! He's a fun mix of Elvis Cole (Ellegaard is reminiscent of Joe Pike) and Cormoran Strike, two of my faves. Think a full helping of snarky wit with a true north compass. And just for fun, he works in a decidedly unglamorous setting. We explore not Hollywood or London ... but Minnesota! Can't remember the last time I read a book that discussed various kinds of winter clothing!
C'mon Matt Goldman, where is the third book? - This is an excellent book - way better than his first one about the same detective. Pluses are excellent writing and an interesting plot. - No wonder he has won awards!! His books sucm you in, and refuse to let you go. Great character development, story as smooth as silk (as you sit on the edge of your seat!) What a RIDE!!
